Final Essay 2

I do not think that war is always the solution for everything. Wars are started with disagreements that go way to far. Most of the wars that have happened over the years are started by greedy people like the British starting the wars against the colony's. Other wars have been started by jealousy. By country's that thing one country has it all and they would do anything to try and take it away.
Most wars are not necessary. They are started for stupid reasons or by people who want way to many things. When the colony's were started they were very successful in starting up a country and then the British came along and thought they should just take everything the colonies have created and made it there own. This would be how the American Revolution started. Several wars were during this time and all started over stupid things and taken way to far.
Currently we are with a war in Iraq. Unlike the other wars I think this is a war the started with a good reason. It did not happen because we started it, it happened because they were jealous of our country and we defended it. It is one of the few reasons you should start a war to protect our country and people in it. Lots of people lost our lives that did not deserve it. Now we are there to help them set up a new government and to get things our country needs like oil. I don't think that we still need to have this war but I don't think that we will be stopping it anytime soon because there are still several people dying and we need that to stop.

Soldier Essay

10/22/1977
1700 hours

Dear Mom,

I am writing you this letter to inform you how I have been doing in the army. We have been on the run from the British for a while now and now we have just got done with a battle and this was the first big win for us. We do run a lot away from the British but I love the feeling I get when we have a victory for us. It reminds me why I joined the army in the first place to help our country so we can be independent. It has been rough the last year but it is getting better as we win. There is not much food here so we are not getting any healthier but we are able to get enough food to survive.
I have not liked how Washington is just running away from the British. We need to stand up for ourselves and take control of the war. In my last month of service we had one of the greatest wars in this revolution because it was a victory and it showed all of the troops that we can do this and we can win this war. Even tho Washington has not treated us well yet I still believe in him to do the right thing in this war and I'm glad to be one of his soldiers.
I have changed my mind about the revolution in the last month after our victory. I've wanted to give up on the war and just come home. All we did is run away almost all the time and that just gives the British more confidence. Once we got that victory I can see that the revolution is changing and I still want to serve for my colony. I am going to re-enlist this spring. I want to continue fighting because I believe we can win this war.

Love your son,
Private, Justin Wilson

Propoganda Commen Sense

The colonies should have the rights to rebel against Britain because Britain is trying to take away what they have established and make it part of Britain. They have taken their rights away from them as human beings. They are taking away their land, coming into there homes, and they are taking away all the things that the colonist believed in and taking over there governments. They colonists came here to set up a government of there own and to have land of their own and they shouldn't have to just give all of that up because of the British.
The British have come to the colonies to take over there property and they government. They will come into your home and kick you out onto the streets because they are a more powerful group of people and the believe colonists do not have enough support from other colonies to fight them off. They have tried taking over there government but did not succeed right away like the other things they have taken over but if the colonists do not do something then the British will take that over too.
I think the future of America can be a good future if the colonist will stand up to the British and fight for what they believe in. They should not just sit around while the British come into their homes and make them leave. They should be the ones that are making the British go back to there own country and if they have to fight them off i believe they should have the right to do anything necessary to have what they want and keep their own colonies.

Boston Massacre

The night of the Boston massacre there were British soldiers in the streets of Boston and also there were several colonists. They colonist were taunting the soldiers and yelling "fire i dare you to fire!". There was a shot fired eventually but no one knew who or where the shot came from. A battle erupted from this one shot that was fired and eventually the soldiers were being arrested and on trial for this massacre. There were a not that many deaths in this massacre but they were deaths that did not need to happen.

I think that the colonists were to blame for this riot that broke out. They were the ones yelling fire and that can easily be mistaken for the captains order to fire. I think that if they were not yelling at the soldiers or yelling fire then no shots would have been fired by the British soldiers even if they were no the ones who did fire the first shot. If they don't have the proof that they shot first they should go by what would make them shoot and that is the colonists.

I don't think that the soldiers should be responsible for the shot because they do not know who shot the bullet or where it even came from. I think that who ever took the next action after that that lead to the massacre should be the ones who are killed or in jail.

Robert Morris

Robert Morris was born on January 20th, 1734 in lancashire England. The state that he represented was Pennsylvania. He first attended school when he was 10 at a school in Philadelphia. In 1748 he became a merchant in Philadelphia. 10 years later he became a member of the continental congress and was also one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. But before he signed this piece of paper he protested it first but eventually signed. Morris had loaned 10,000 dollars of his own money to go towards funds for the war. He made plans for a National bank and submitted it to congress and it later became the Bank of North America.
Following the war he served in the Pennsylvania Legislature. He died in 1806 at the age of 73.

Robert Morris helped finance a lot of things for the war. He helped pay Washington's troops and help with supplies. Before the war there was a stamp act which Morris was one of the several people who protested this act. He created a bank for the colonies so they could support their troops and keep the war going. Morris was one of the biggest reasons we still had troops fighting for the colony's. If he did not donate money to support the troops then the war would have been over and Britain would control what now is the United States of America.

Robert Morris was part of the revolutionary war for financial reasons. He wanted to help support the troops in the war because he was part of the Philadelphia government. He wanted to be a part of this war because they were the ones who set up the colony's and did not want what they made just taken away. He did not like the way England was treating them because they tried to take things they had no part in. This is why he supported the colony's. He had a great part in this war.

Robert Morris deserves a lot more credit because with out him most of Washington's troops would have quit because they would not have been paid. He is a signer of the Declaration of Independence, he supplied military supplies for the troops to help fight. He was also the person to come up with the idea for a bank. These are reasons that Robert Morris should have more recognition and for many other reasons.

Final Essay

In the 1930's Germany did not really have a set government and that is how Hitler came to power over Germany. He started the Nazis and they started to defeat the people in the government of Germany. They started to gain more and more power after time and then they made a big move and took over the government and when people tried to stop them they would kill them so no one did anything.

When they got the power they became a racist group and they were against all the Jewish people so they started these camps where they would send any Jewish person to and they would be tortured and beaten if they fought. After a while the camps because used for everyone the Nazis didn't like and it became a big thing in the world. Thousands of people were being killed all the time.

The German people did not try to take over the power that Hitler had because they knew he would kill anyone against him and that is what they were doing against the Jewish people. The holocaust became a big murdering streak and Hitler kill thousands and thousands of people. If they would of tried to take over Hitler then they would be put into a camp and most likely killed.

Plymouth Maine

Plymouth Maine is located in the southwest part of Penobscot county. There are around 1300 people in this little town of only 31 square miles. There many towns around Plymouth that many people travel to every day. Some of those towns would be Newport which is one of the busiest around and there are others like Etna, Dixmont, and Detroit.
This is one of the towns where everyone is friendly with other people. Everyone knows there neighbors in this town. It is very different then in a city because of these things. When me and my dad had moved here from Brewer Maine we did not know anyone around here but it did not take long for us to meet people. We know all the people that live on our road and it is a very good town to live in if you like it quite and friendly.
This town has changed a lot since it was first founded. It was originally more of a farming town and now it is more of a community of people. It is a town where people mostly like to relax but it is a great town to do bike riding in or you could go to the Plymouth Pond and go boating or fishing.
In this town most of the people that live here are middle aged people around there 30’s and 40’s and a lot of these people have kids.
This is a great town if you like to go snowmobiling or four wheeling also. There are trails all around and also there are trails to get into Newport also. From Newport you can go several different places and that’s a big reason people go four wheeling and snowmobiling in Plymouth.
The towns that surround Plymouth are a very big help to the people in this town. Newport is a much bigger town the boarders Plymouth and that is where the people of Plymouth can go to get groceries or go out to eat. There are several different places to shop or eat. Bangor is another place that is not to far from Plymouth. It is about 20 miles away and it is a very good place that people can go shopping at for clothes and other things you don’t normally buy in Newport. Bangor is a place where kids from Plymouth like to go to hang out or go shopping for things.
One of the most traveled to places in Plymouth is the Plymouth store. The Plymouth store has been around since the 1800’s and it is a big help to the town. It is a place where people go to get some types of food and get gas for their cars and other things. There is a cafĂ© that has opened up inside the Plymouth store and that’s a place where people can go eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is a store that makes a ton of money because it is pretty much the only store in Plymouth that has gas at it and it is also located in a very populated and traveled area of town. This is also a good store in town because the prices are very accurate they do not charge to much for things like most stores will do to people.
The Plymouth pond is a very busy place in the summer. People go there and they can fish or just go boating and tubing. It is a very big spot where kids like to go hangout by the water and some people will swim. People also like having houses by water and this is a good spot to have a house because it is a nice spot in the summer time and there is also very good shade on the shore. This is a very busy place because it is on a busy road. The ponds in Plymouth attract many tourists and vacationers and also fisherman.

This town has changed a lot since it was first founded. It was more of a farming place before and it has made a big change. There are fewer farms around and more houses. There are very friendly people that live in this community and that’s why my dad had moved here to Plymouth. It is a very laid back and relaxed place to live and not much goes on around here. It is so much different from a city where people don’t know many other people around where they live. Mostly every neighbor knows each other and talks every now and then. In the city people aren’t as forward as they are in a town. In Plymouth people will come right out and talk to you they won’t just stand there and say nothing.
There are many opportunities to do outside things in the town of Plymouth. There are snowmobile trails and four wheeler trails all around and you can go a lot of places if you get on them. The store is a place where you can get the gas for your sled or four wheeler and it makes a lot of money of that. Boating is another thing people come to Plymouth and do on there vacation. They like to go out on the ponds and go for a ride in the summer and stop to catch something to eat or just to fish and throw
them back.
